European Languages for Secretaries - Transfer of Innovation (ref. no. LLP/LdV/ToI/2007/RO/008)

Target Group

The Business Language Training packages are mostly beneficial to those who are:

  • Employed in a job that requires foreign language skills
  • Secretarial and administrative staff of firms that deal with international clientele
  • Language trainers and teachers that want to update their teaching methodology
  • Students and job seekers who are looking to acquire language skills to increase their employability in the global markets of today

The language course is organised in 2 levels: intermediate and advanced. According to the Common European Framework of Reference (Attenzione linkare al documento denominato “The Common European Framework”) the course level are:

Level A2 - Basic user that:
  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Level B1 - Independent user that
  • Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
  • Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
  • Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
In order to determine the user's language level, it is necessary to complete the Self-Assessment checklist available at the beginning of each of the four language packages.
